"Hoteles Baratos" en Barcelona - Cheap Hotels in Barcelona

Not every body has the budget to spend 100 - 150€ the night in a hotel, so I wanted to list you some nice and cheap Hotels in Barcelona.

The Hotel Via Augusta is situated on the 'Via augusta 63', it is a nice 2 star hotel
with rates from 60€ to 100€

The rooms have been recently restored and offer space and brightness.

A really nice Hotel where you will feel home away from home.

If you like jogging, you will be happy in this hotel, as the director and Front office manager are joggers.
They would be more than happy for you to join them on a run through the city. Ask on advice as soon as you arrive.

The Hotel Sagrada Familia as indicates its name is situated close to Gaudi's famous Basilica Sagrada Familia, on "Calle Corcega 541" only 2 mn walk from the Basilica.

A nice modern 3 star hotel, that offers rooms with all comfort for a relaxing stay. Located within the centre of Barcelona and close to most landmarks and monuments that represent Barcelona: Antoni Gaudi , the Gothic quarter, the ramblas and the harbor.
Enjoy this great located hotel with rates starting afrom 65€ up to 120€, great breakfast buffet and even a roof terrace to take advantage of exceptional views on Barcelona's roofs and monuments.

Hope these two finds will allow you to spend a great time in Barcelona.
Have a nice trip and journey, don't forget your sunglasses and suncream!!!

Madrid - Fitur 2011

Long time no news, Happy New Year!
This week I am in Madrid, in order to attend the FITUR tradefair(Feria Internacional de Turismo).
I am staying in a Nice Small 4 Star Hotel still called 'Hotel Quo Puerta del Sol', the name may change soon.

This nice Boutique Hotel is 2 minutes walk away from the famous Plaza del Sol, which is the 0 point of Spain. All routes are calculated from this point.
Nice and clean Hotel, good breakfast buffet and very quiet  and spacious rooms.
Rates between 70 € - 150€.
To enjoy a nice lunch, you can go to the retaurant on the left when getting out of the hotel, called La Finca de Susana, great Value for money. However make sure to go there around 8.30 - 09.00 pm, as it gets crowded very quickly around 09.30 - 10.00.

Another discovery in Madrid for you guys would be the Hotel Abalu, very small Design Hotel with only 17 Rooms, but very stylish and comfy interiors. This hotel has an average occupancy of 92% all year round, so make sure to book in advance. Very trendy quarter, very close to the Gran Via and its musicals. Worth trying this very nice boutique hotel that opened it's doors only 2 years ago

My last found, an ancient typical madrilene Hostel, entirely restored and turned into a nice boutique hotel :
la posada del leon de oro. Website still in construction with template pictures, I have seen the rooms, they are really nice. This hotel also has a nice restaurant where you can enjoy some nice tapas and chose out of a large range of wines. they have a large wine cellar.

I hope that this post may help you discover some unusual but quiet trendy and very new places.
Have a nice stay and relax with Tapas!!!

EIBTM Tradefair and Barcelona good value for Money boutique Hotels

This week EIBTM tradefair is starting on 30th November and ends on 2nd of December 2010. A very good tradefair specialized in Events and Meetings. But when going to a fair in Barcelona and having to chose out pof 660 hotels, where to stay?

This time I chose the Hotel Condado, great three star hotel situated
on calle Aribau 201, only 10 mn walk from the Paseo de Gracia. The rooms are very clean, great service, staff very friendly and helpfull. A lot of fine restaurants are around the Hotel on the Travesera de Gracia or on
Calle Tuset.

Hotel Banys Orientals situated in 'el Born' oldest part of Barcelona,
only a few rooms, rates between 70 and 130€ the night, if you can afford it stay in a suite so you have more space. The double rooms are pretty small but all the rooms are very charming and cosy. You will love the decoration. The hotel also has a restaurant where you can taste some catalan specialities.

Walk around the Born area, and visit those tiny street full of history, visit the church and take a glass of wine in one of the tiny wine bars around the church. If you want to go further for a visit, you will only be 5 minutes walking from the Cathedral, which is worth going to, even if entrance is payable - strange for a Cathedral!

My last found is this 22 room design Hotel Neri, situated right next to the Cathedral within a tiny street full of history. All the rooms are different, Room rate starting from 200 Euros the night. The breakfast room is an intimate gastronomic Restaurant in the afternoons and evenings. Very Romantic place to stay.

Have a nice stay and enjoy Barcelona's Sun, Tapas and shops...

Some Barcelona Boutique Hotels

I have gathered some Info together about some hotels I have stayed in and that are really worth a stay. I sorted them a bit via price and stars, eventhough this does not always mean that they are expensive or not.

Good Value for money Hotel Constanza, a very nice recently renovated 2 star hotel but with 4 star decoration located only 2 streets away from the Famous "Paseo de Gracia". An average rate between 90 and 130€ per night, depending of course of the period you book.
Suite

 Lounge Bar
Very Charming Boutique Hotel Villa Emilia, situated on Calle diputacion with Calle Calabria, very nice decorated rooms, great louge bar on the roof, and restaurant with great decoration. Very quiet rooms with good service. You will reach the Plaza Catalunya by metro with only 3 stops. Roughly 130€ and more per night.

If you want some great views over Barcelona, have a look at the Hotel Miramar, situated on the Montjuic mountain, not really a boutique hotel, but with 75 rooms it is not one of the biggest hotels in Barcelona. It has a great situation, probably the best view of Barcelona, great rooms, great breakfast room, Spa and Massage, everything you need to relax. This hotel is the most expensive of the three I mentionned, more or likely around 160€ and more per night. If you want a room with view, ask for
                                                      it!

Soon more to come!!! For any advice you may have feel free in contacting me.

European Cities! Paris - Barcelona - Berlin -

I love Paris, Barcelona and Berlin, and just wanted to share the places I have visited during my travels within these cities. I have been travelling for almost 5 years every week to one of those cities for work, and have always stayed in small (not always) design hotels. Let me tell you the story of  my experience. Let's start with Paris, the city of lights and love.

It is true that when trying to organise a trip you have several ways to find your hotel. Whether you are not too adventourous and prefer going to your travel agency in order to book one of the big chains such as Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, etc...but where at the end you will only be a number. Or go on the internet and search for the dream hotel for your romantic trip to Paris. Even on the internet it is very hard to find the pearl hotel you may be looking for, because launching a research with the keywords : Paris center hotel or Paris charming hotel, etc...will give a result showing first all the big distributors such as booking, expedia, hotels.com, etc... Those will show all hotels of Paris, you will be able to browse all 1400 Hotels. Of course have a look at the pictures of the first 10 hotels and trying to find the official hotels website is a very good idea, and honestly most people do this by now. But you have to know that the first hotels that show up on those pages just pay more comision in order to get a higher ranking! So all this brings me to the point where I want to help you finding the best and nicest places for your futur stay.!
